It's time to turn the page for Dan. TWELVE's New Face of September is a talent of Berlin model agency Izaio, looking at us through a one-of-a-kind head piece by designer and artist Rein Vollenga. Behind the curvy, black shapes of this extraordinary accessory, you see dripping black, a reminiscence of a tragic event in Nairobi last year, when an oil pipeline exploded after a fuel spill in Nairobi on September 12. Over 100 people were killed in the event. They had tried to get oil from the leaking pipeline. The yellow-black shape is modelled after Nairobi's city flag, which starrs a blue-and-white circle at its center – in our collage the wavy pattern has been covered in black oil color. A later, on September 13, 2011, Richard Hamilton died aged 89. The British pop artist once created a work called "Just what is it that makes today's homes so different, so appealing?“, which is considered to have been Pop Art's initial piece of art. The rest is history. And what's left to say is: Some things begin, while others come to an end. And very few things outlive the past. Those two lollipops surely will remain with us – R.I.P. Richard. And you, out there, don't rest in peace, live in peace and cherish the sweetness of those September days to come.
