We're ready to blow for half-time and not just because the soccer European championship is coming up, but because June divides the year into two halves. June is the month with the longest daylight hours for citizens of the Northern Hemisphere whereas the Southern Hemisphere folks suffer from the shortest daylight hours of the year. However: most importantly is to turn the page of your calender TWELVE welcoming our June!

Our collage is starring Caroline, a New Face of German model agency Iconic. Her white-and-blue blouse and apple green floor-length skirt by Berlin-based fashion label Thone-Negrón contrasts to the thunderstorm- and smoke-infused backdrop. It is linked to last year's Puyehue volcane erupution in Chile that forced 3000 people to leave their home and many travelers to be patient when airplanes across South America, New Zealand and Australia were grounded. In case you're wondering about the specific color touch to the cloudy background: It's another link back to June and derives from the structure and color June's monthly stone, the Alexandrite whereas the pink key symbol refers to a brave person: Hu Jia, a Chinese, a Chinese activist and dissident who was released from jail on June 26 in 2011.
–
So let's hope for less interrupting eruptions and more progressive unlocking events in June 2012 – may it be in sporty respects or fashion terms...we heard there's a tent being built at Brandenburger Tor that's unclosing for a fashion event...
All calendar images of TWELVE show fashion by Berlin-based designers worn by up-and-coming New Faces from all over Germany. The collages merge mythological references with symbols of incidents that took place in 2011 and people who passed away. Alongside you'll find fragments of stones connected to each month.
